D35 stands 1 km to the south of D34 on the northern edge of the Valtherbos, also on a sand path to the left of the road from Valthe to Klijndijk. There is a signpost by the road. The hunebed is of a similar size to D35 and has only two lintels, one of which has slipped from its uprights. Most of the 10 uprights and 2 keystones have almost disappeared under the sand.
Location of D35
Visit of Professor van Giffen in 1918
“In a collapsed state” was Van Giffen’s judgement of this hunebed. The 2 keystones are present and correctly in place, so the original length and orientation can be determined. The 2 lintels still present have slipped off but originally there must have been 5, resting on 10 uprights. One upright is missing, the others are mainly still in place. The hunebed is owned by the Province.
