This hunebed stands not far from Evora, close to the village of Valverde. It was built between 4000 and 3500 BC. It jas a long entranceway leading to one inner chamber. Originally this chamber was covered with a stone 7 metres wide and the whole tomb was covered with a mound of sand and stones.

At one time a large menhir stood in front of the entrance but this has since fallen and now lies in front of the dolmen. The monument was discovered in 1964. During excavations several objects were found, and these can be seen in the museum in Evora. The restoration was not completely successful and should really be redone as a matter of urgency before it collapses.
