There are many dolmens in the Ardeche region of southern France, most of them quite small and difficult to find. Fortunately there are a number of exceptions which are easier to find and the Dolmen de Chamvermeil is a good example. It is well preserved and was restored several times in the 19th century.

The location is signposted from the D201, approximately 1.5 kilometres after the village of Bidon in the direction of Bourg-St-Andéol. From there to the dolmen is only a short walk of about 100 metres.
